





























2010 Scholarships
Three $2,000 Scholarships to be Awarded in 2010
For the 31st consecutive year the Freehold Soil Conservation District Board of Supervisors will be awarding scholarships to area college students majoring in a field related to the conservation of our natural resources. The Neal Munch, Mac Clark and Bill Schauer Scholarships are named to honor their years of dedicated and distinguished service to the Freehold District and to conservation efforts.
Three $2,000 scholarships will be awarded in the summer of 2010.
All applicants must be:

A New Jersey resident of Middlesex or Monmouth County

Entering at least their junior or senior year of college in the Fall of 2010

Majoring in a field related to natural resource conservation including, but not limited to: agriculture, conservation studies, environmental education, environmental science, forestry, geology, landscape design, resource management, soil science, etc.
The 2010 Scholarship Application deadline has passed. Winners will be selected and notified by July 2010.

The Winners
Drew E. Hart, Manasquan, received the Neal Munch Scholarship. Hart is a student at the School of Enviromental & Biological Sciences -- Rutgers, pursuing a degree in Ecology and Natural Resources.
Martin P. O'Hare, Cream Ridge, was awarded the Marvin 'Mac' Clark Scholarship. He is an Environmental Policies major at the School of Enviromental & Biological Sciences -- Rutgers.
Matthew R. Mattia, Freehold, earned the William 'Bill' Schauer Scholarship. Mattia is an Agonomy major at Iowa State University.
Kevin F. Soldo, Homdel, received the Freehold SCD Scholarship. He is a student at the School of Enviromental & Biological Sciences -- Rutgers, majoring in Environmental Science.

2008 Scholarship Winners
Winners of the 2008 Scholarships were:
- Neal Munch Scholarship: Tara Fiechter-Russo, of Hazlet, Tufts' Friedman School
- Marvin 'Mac' Clark Scholarship: Brian Brateris, Lake Como, Richard Stockton College of New Jersey
- William 'Bill' Schauer Scholarship: Hendrik Van Hemmen, Fair Haven, University of Pittsburg
Brian Brateris received the $2,000 Mac Clark Scholarship.
